FirstRand international postgraduate scholarships
The FirstRand international scholarship programme offers South Africans the chance to pursue higher education abroad, enhancing their personal, academic and career development. The aim is to cultivate future leaders, innovators and creative thinkers who can drive and influence positive social and economic change.
Twelve scholarships for international postgraduate study are available to South African citizens. They are:
- Two FirstRand Laurie Dippenaar scholarships for international postgraduate study;
- Three FirstRand Empowerment Foundation scholarships for international postgraduate study;
- FirstRand Oxford African Studies scholarship an MSc in African Studies at the Oxford School of Global and Area studies;
- FirstRand Oxford Blavatnik School of Government scholarship for a Master of Public Policy;
- FirstRand Oxford Smith School of Enterprise and the Environment scholarship for an MSc in Sustainability, Enterprise and the Environment;
- FirstRand IHE Delft Water Education scholarship for an MSc in Water and Sustainability;
- FirstRand IE School of Science and Technology scholarship for a Master’s in Business Analytics and Big Data or a Master in Computer and Business Technology; and
- Two Mandela scholarship supported by the FirstRand Empowerment Foundation for a Master’s degree at the University of Sussex.
Higher education support programme
In addition to international postgraduate scholarships outlined above, the FirstRand Foundation funds the following partners as part of its higher education support programme.
