About Firstrand volunteers

in recognition and appreciation of the difference many employees make in their communities, the firstrand volunteers programme was launched
in 2003 to facilitate and support employee community involvement

The programme provides employees from FirstRand, FNB, RMB and WesBank who are the “heart of the business”, with the opportunity to make a difference. The FirstRand Volunteers matched funding programme matches employees for both their time and money to donate back to their chosen beneficiary.

How employees get involved

Since the programme’s launch, employees have built homes for needy families, implemented veggie tunnels and wormeries, planted trees at community schools, repaired and painted HIV/Aids clinics, supported child feeding schemes, and distributed winter warmers and cans of food and blankets to the cold, needy and orphaned. FirstRand employees have donated over R20 million in both time and money since 2003. 22% of the Group’s total staff complement of more than 34 000 participate in the FirstRand Volunteers programme.
